Why Lehigh? “It’s a good academic school and I loved the campus. Lehigh also has a very good tennis program and I felt I could perform well at the Division I level. Coach Shook is always great. He makes practice fun and knows what he is talking about.”
Player Profile: As a junior … went 8-6 competing in second, third and fourth flight singles … won 12 matches at second and third flight doubles, best on the team of any returning player … compiled consecutive 5-6 overall records as a freshman and a sophomore at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th singles … was 7-5 in overall doubles competition … two-time letterwinner at Lehigh … was ranked among the top 10 players in Peru at the age of 14, 16, and 18…victorious in several national tournaments … ranked 26 in South America at the age of 16 … played in may international tournaments including the COSAT Tournament and the Orange Bowl Tournament … won the Milo Cup in 2000 … the Lima High School Cup in 1999 and 2000 … won the Banana Bowl Tournament doubles championship in 1997.
Personal: Daughter of Pedro and Josefina … has one sister Josefina (21) … father played tennis and was a national doubles champion in 1983 and 1985 … favorite players are Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, and Martina Hingis.
