Why Lehigh? “I chose to attend Lehigh because of the outstanding academic reputation, the Division I tennis team, and the beautiful campus.”
As a junior: Proved to be a reliable singles player in the middle of Lehigh’s lineup, going 10-8 overall and 5-3 against league foes…played primarily No. 5 singles during league play, going 4-2 at that flight…split time between the second and third flights of doubles, going 12-6 overall and 5-3 in Patriot League play…earned a come-from-behind win at No. 4 singles vs. Bucknell in the Patriot League Quarterfinals.
As a sophomore: Played primarily No. 2 singles, going 6-11 at that flight… went 3-4 against Patriot League opponents… clinched Patriot League quarterfinal win over Loyola with win at No. 2 singles… won nine doubles matches… played primarily at No. 2 doubles flight with Abby Farrell.
As a freshman: led Lehigh in singles and doubles victories… named team’s Outstanding Athlete… posted 11-6 overall singles mark including 3-1 record in Patriot League regular season… played primarily at No. 3 singles but also played seven matches at No. 2 flight… played eight matches at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles flights… named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
In high school: earned five varsity tennis letters… team captain… NY State Doubles Champion in 2011-2012… 2013 Athlete of the Year… also earned three varsity lacrosse letters and was team captain… member of National Honor Society.
Personal: Daughter of Eric and Carolyn Cruz… sister Jessie (18) and brother Michael (14).
