Jeff Comissiong joined the Lehigh coaching staff in February 2025. He will coach Lehigh’s defensive line. A veteran with nearly 30 years of coaching experience, Comissiong comes to Lehigh after spending the 2024 season as the defensive line coach at Boston College.
 
The 2024 season marked Comissiong’s second stint at BC. He coached a defensive line that contributed to a defense that ranked in the top 25 nationally against the rush. Defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku led the nation in sacks and was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Comissiong spent the 2023 season as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at his alma mater, the University of Maine. Prior to his third stint at Maine, Comissiong spent two seasons at Cornell University where he coached the linebackers and mentored four All-Ivy honorees.
 
A one-year stint at Hampton University as associate head coach, run-game coordinator and defensive line coach was preceded by seven years as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Line Coach at Old Dominion. Comissiong was on staff as ODU transitioned to the FBS in 2014 and qualified for and won its first bowl game two years later. With Comissiong leading the defensive line, ODU ranked in the top 30 in the FBS in sacks in 2016 and 2017 and ranked 45th nationally in total defense in 2019.
 
From 2007-12, Comissiong coached the defensive line and served as the pro liaison at Boston College. In his first stint at BC, Comissiong mentored three All-ACC selections, including first-round NFL draft choice B.J. Raji and second-round pick Ron Brace. During his tenure, BC played in two ACC Championship Games, reached four bowl games and had three seasons of eight wins or more.
 
In 2006, Comissiong coached the defensive line at Harvard, with the Crimson boasting the top defense in the Ivy League. He coached at Maine from 2000-06, coaching the defensive line and running backs during his time, while serving as recruiting coordinator. Comissiong was on staff for Maine’s back-to-back Atlantic 10 championships and FCS quarterfinal appearances in 2001 and 2002.
 
Comissiong started his coaching career at Maine as a defensive line assistant and recruiting graduate assistant from 1996-97 before taking a position as the defensive line coach at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine from 1998-99.
 
As a student-athlete, Comissiong was a four-year letterwinner at linebacker for the Black Bears, beginning his career as a walk-on and becoming a two-year starter. Comissiong graduated from Maine with a degree in political science. He and his wife Alison have two children, Jacey and Mya.
