Bio
WHY LEHIGH? I chose Lehigh for the combination of high academics as well as the strong baseball family of this school. The baseball program in itself strengthens with each year and as a recruit, seeing that trend was exciting.
ON COACH LEARY:Â Coach Leary is a huge reason there is that family aspect within the baseball program. He does whatever it takes for this program to succeed in all aspects of college life, and each player has an unbelievable amount of trust in everything he does along with all the other coaches on staff.
2023Â (SENIOR SEASON)
One of the primary relievers, Deom appeared in a career-high 17 games and 24.0 innings with a 1-1 record and a save during his senior campaign with seven games with multiple strikeouts... Boasted the lowest ERA on the team with an ERA of 3.00 and matched his personal best 19 strikeouts... His lone win came against Manhattan College (3/5) with the longest outing of the season by twirling 3.0 scoreless innings without a hit and one strikeout...Recorded a save against Utah Valley (3/11), going 2.1 innings and did not allow a run on three hits with a couple of strikeouts... Finalist for Lehigh Athletics' Sportsmanship Award... Selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team and CSC Academic All-District squad...
2022Â (JUNIOR SEASON)
Appearing in 13 games with one start on the mound, Deom delivered 18.1 innings for the Mountain Hawks, striking out 10 batters with a 4.91 ERA... His longest outing came against Navy (4/2) when he hurled three scoreless innings and allowed just two hits and season-high three strikeouts... In another appearance against Navy (4/16) he tossed a pair of innings with a couple of Ks in a scoreless outing. His other multi-strikeout game came at Army West Point (5/7) where threw 1.2 innings, striking out two batters with just one run on three hits... Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll...
2021 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Made nine appearances in relief, struggling to find the same spark from 2020, going 1-1 with a 10.20 ERA in 15.0 innings of work...started the year out strong with three near-perfect innings at Coppin State (2/27), allowing just one hit and striking out seven of the 10 batters he faced in relief...pitched a perfect inning of relief vs. Bucknell (3/13), striking out the side in order...threw three innings on 40 pitches vs. Army (4/17), striking out two and allowing just one hit...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2020 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Promising rookie campaign, making five appearances out of the bullpen, leading all freshmen pitchers with a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings of work...dominant first career outing at Davidson (2/15), going three innings, allowing two hits and one earned run, striking out five batters and walking none...recorded four outs vs. CCSU (2/29) without allowing a run and striking out two to earn his first career save...named to the J. Daniel Nolan Award Spring Watch List...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
