Fitness Center Desk Attendant
General Description: Responsibilities will include answering and directing incoming phone calls, check-in of members, appointment scheduling and tracking, statistical recording, requisitions and distribution of recreational equipment, knowledge and promotion of Fitness Center programs, knowledge and enforcement of Fitness Center policies and procedures, patron supervision, facility emergency responsiveness, and general facility and equipment upkeep and cleaning.

Fitness Assistant
General Description: Responsibilities include supervision of cardio deck and weight floor, knowledge and enforcement of Fitness Center policies and procedures, patron and facility emergency responsiveness, member orientation and assistance, program promotion, special program support, assistance with strength testing and program orientations, equipment maintenance, general cleaning, and support duties as assigned.

- Identify equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, ensure patron safety, implement out of service signs on malfunctioning equipment and report details of machine and issue to the fitness desk, ensure problem is properly documented.
- Assist in the daily operations of the fitness facility.
- Ensure daily proper facility set up, and end of the evening re-set for all bars, weights, light equipment with all equipment stored properly and machines are aligned.

General Description: Responsible to ensure the supervision and safety of the aquatics facility and recreational swimmers.

Responsibilities:

- All guards will provide up to date copies of their certifications to be on file at the Fitness Office
- Be a leader and be visible - all lifeguards will wear a uniform consisting of a pair of shorts (swim suit), t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt. Pool-ready attire with Shorts and shirt will be worn when on duty.
- There will be no homework/computer/headphones/ear plugs when people are in the pool. Your focus will be the water and the people in it.
- Responsible to ensure proper opening and set up the rec swim program and closing: binder, safety gear, cones for starting blocks, door security, locker supply security.
- Responsible to ensure all patrons present and leave an LU ID card with the guard: ALL PATRONS MUST SIGN IN. A daily binder will be used for logging participation:
- A minimum of 3 guards need to be on deck at all times for any recreational swim opportunity. (4 guards are scheduled for each shift)
- Emergency protocols will be reviewed and available within the Lifeguard binder– You are responsible to review and familiarize yourself with all safety and operational protocols.
- Responsible to attend all training activities to ensure skill and protocols are fresh for responsiveness to emergencies or general issues.

General description: Responsible for providing assistance in; employee hiring processes, financial transactions, fitness class registration, locker management, special programming, utilization of computer technology for office functions (Google docs, excel, Word, other specific software). Learned knowledge of facility policies and membership procedures for facility usage (patron waiver management, data base management, filing, and communications). Requires detailed program knowledge, facility navigation, and patron and facility emergency awareness and responsiveness.
WS Level: 3; $11.00/hr.

Facility Supervisor
General Description: Responsible for overseeing operations in the absence of Fitness and Recreation Administrative staff during weekday openings, evenings and all weekend operational hours. Possess knowledge of all working operations including: patron entry check-in, facility security, building supervision, exercise equipment, recreational equipment management, fitness center programming, policies, procedures and maintenance procedures, facility and patron emergency responsiveness, opening and closing procedures.
Special Training:
1. Previous fitness center employment (preferred) and experience with all facets of facility policies and procedures.

General Duties:
- Be patron focused and customer service oriented at all times!

- Responsible for overseeing staff coverage of all activity areas during scheduled hours. - Ensure uniformity of member facility usage, policy and procedure enforcement and overall operations by staff members during mornings and evenings daily and weekend shifts.
- Ensure facility coverage of all scheduled staff and programmed activities.
- Responsible for the ensuring proper ID card entry and total building security and supervision.
- Meet weekly with peer supervisors and Manger for scheduling, program updates and problem identification.
- Perform regular facility walk throughs (every 30 minutes) for security, safety, proper facility use and patron tracking.
- Act as a lead and first responder for emergencies and security issues.
- Be knowledgeable for facility emergency response and contacts for injuries, building evacuations, plumbing, heating, electrical and custodial needs.

Climbing Wall Staff Belayer
General Description: Responsible for primary coverage of operational hours at the climbing wall. Possesses knowledge of all working operations including: climbing equipment, policies and procedures, liability (waiver management), patron management, equipment and facility maintenance procedures. Strong sense of problem identification and problem avoidance concerning patron participation and equipment at the wall site.
Special Training:
- Belay certified by Climbing Wall Manager or Supervisor*
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid/AED
- Emergency Response Training (Climbing wall specific and Taylor Gym)*
*All training will be provided by the Fitness Center Director and supervisory staff members.

- Demonstrated working knowledge of rules and regulations of the climbing area

- Capable of catching climber falls – two announced falls and two unannounced falls with eyes down and climber between fifteen and twenty feet off the ground

- Work environment requires both indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Respond to communications in a timely manner in regarding work assignments.
- Complete the game sheets for each shift and submit to Lead IM Supervisor.

Intramural and Club sport Office Manager
Job Description: The Club Sports/Intramural Manager oversees all office operations. Responsible for hiring, scheduling, and training all intramural staff. Acts as a liaison between program participants/supervisors and professional staff. Will primarily operate out of Grace Hall but may also be required to help at Sayre Fields and Taylor Gym.
Job Evaluation: You will meet with professional staff at the end of each semester to discuss job duties and performance. We will factor in punctuality, accuracy of work, number of hours worked per week, responsiveness to program participants and staff, and initiative.

- Prior Club Sports/IM experience (1+ years)

- Hire, schedule, and help train student staff and support weekly office hours.
- Conduct regular communications with CS/IM participants and be responsive to staff communications.

- Be informed of all elements including Club Sports activities, Intramural schedule, facility schedule, social media posts, upcoming events, etc.
- Handles oversight and delegation of duties and processes to IM staff for job efficiency.

Job Description: An Intramural Official's primary responsibility is to officiate and oversee intramural sports games, ensuring a fair, safe, and enjoyable experience for all participants. This involves enforcing rules, maintaining order, and resolving conflicts while adhering to established policies and procedures. Will operate out of Grace Hall, Taylor Gym, Sayre/Goodman fields and facilities.
Job Evaluation: Rec Supervisors will evaluate performance in an ongoing manner. They, along with professional staff, will provide training and guidance while holding officials to certain standards. We will factor in punctuality, accuracy of work, number of hours worked per week, responsiveness to program participants and staff, and initiative.
Level: 2 -Starting salary: $10.00/hr. – Hours/week: 4-10 (10-12 weeks/semester)
General Duties:
- Officiate Games: Referees and umpire games, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules of each sport.
- Enforce Rules and Policies: Maintain order and sportsmanship, addressing any violations of rules or policies.

General Duties:
- Hire, schedule and train student office staff and support weekly office hours
- Ensure uniformity of training and job performance
- Conduct regular communications and be responsive to staff communications

- Ensure daily and weekly shift coverage by employees
- Be informed of all elements including fitness classes, payroll, tracking, facility schedule, social media posts, upcoming events, etc.
- Responsible for oversight and delegation to staff of specific duties and processes for job efficiency.
- Communicate on a regular basis with senior professional staff
- Attend and contribute to weekly managers meeting.
- Be present as the Office Manager in the office a minimum of 4 hours per week excluding “Manager On Duty”.
- Ensure timely submission of online time sheets. Monitor staff absences, tardiness, and enforce proper disciplinary action
- Responsible for relaying information to the staff regarding payroll, gym operations, or other pertinent subjects
- Track employee earnings to ensure all that all office staff are in compliance with available earnings
- Maintain regular communication with other managers and employees
- Schedule office staff in support of all exam period hours via a modified schedule
- Provide incentive and motivation for workers - support Employee of the Month and other staff recognition.

Facility Supervisor Manager - FILLED FOR 25-26
General Description: Description: Responsible for the staffing and facility oversight during all evening and weekend hours.
Special Training:
- Prior experience as a Facility Supervisor required with at least 2 years of fitness center staff experience.
- Proven leader within staff and one semester shadowing of existing Supervisor Manager
- CPR/FA/AED certified
- Emergency Response Training

General Duties:
- Full knowledge of duties and responsibilities outlined for Morning and Evening Facility Supervisors
- Complete knowledge of all working policies and procedures within Taylor Gym
- Oversee and motivate staff (16-20) for the highest level of performance, ensure uniformity of training and patron safety and enjoyment.
- Attend weekly manager meetings
- Be present and work a minimum of 4-6 hours per week including “Manager On Duty” in addition to administrative hours.
- Responsible for hiring, scheduling and communications with all staff, coordinate schedule with student staff and volunteers staff as needed

- Accountable for all shift hours: Mornings 6:30 – am – 10:00 am Monday-Friday, Evenings 4:00 pm – close Monday –Friday, Opening/ Closing on weekends

General description: The payroll manager oversees payroll processes and tracking for student payroll. Responsible for pre-authorization of weekly payroll for administrators, communications with student staff and student managers for payroll verification as needed, tracking of student earnings and development of summary reports for the fitness administrators.

General Duties:
- Acts as a liaison between student staff and senior management for Time Clock Plus payroll functions, communications, and tracking.
- Conduct regular communications with general staff, student mangers and be responsive to student staff communications concerning any payroll related issues: clock-in/clock out issues, direct deposit, tax forms, etc.
- Be familiar with Payroll (use Time Clock Plus) app and help teach other employees
- Ensure timely submission of Time Clock Plus approvals for senior professional staff approval steps.
- Construct payroll reports biweekly and translate information for tracking support.
- Communicate on weekly or more frequently with senior professional staff for payroll process
- Track employee earnings to ensure all staff are in compliance with available earnings.
