WHY LEHIGH? “Lehigh has an awesome campus with a rigorous and hands-on engineering program. Additionally, it had a crew program which I felt that I could be a part of. Finally, it was 200+ miles from home.”
ON THE COACHING STAFF: “I trust that Coach Moorehead is always trying to make us go faster. And with Coach Conley, I believe that this team now has the leadership to elevate itself above what it had been in the prior seasons.”
AS A JUNIOR (2010-11): Member of the Varsity Four that came in second at the Lehigh River Cup (4/16) with a time of 6:21.83. Also took part in the Varsity Eight crew that finished second (5:36.18) … Part of the Varsity Four crew that made it to the second round of the Knecht Cup (4/10) … Stroke four for the Varsity Eight that won the Neuweiler Plate (6:15.30). Bow crew member of the Varsity Four that also came in second in the final round.
BEFORE LEHIGH: New England Scholastic gold medal recipient in First Varsity Four … Two-time silver medalist in Second Varsity Eight and gold medalist in First Varsity Four at the Massachusetts Scholastic Rowing Championships.
PERSONAL: Son of Jonathon and Christine Winder … Has two siblings: Kathryn and Varina … Enjoys video games and sailing … Lists Greg Jennings as favorite athlete.
