Coach Leary cares the most about the character of his players on and off the field. For Coach Leary, the biggest part of being a coach is developing his players into men, to prepare them for both college academics and baseball, as well as prepping them to be leaders in the real world.
2018 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Made six appearances, all in relief…averaged 1.0 innings per appearance…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2017 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Made 11 appearances with a record of 1-1 out of the bullpen…struck out 23 batters in 15.2 innings of work…established a new career-high by fanning six batters in 3.0 innings in a 12-6 win over Maryland Easter Shore (4/26)…earned his first-career victory on Mar. 8 at Coppin State as he tossed 3.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, two hits and one walk…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2016 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Made 15 appearances out of the bullpen, striking out 16 batters in a total of 18.0 innings…fanned a season-best five batters in a 2.1 inning outing against Manhattan (3/26)…threw a season-high three innings in game three of the Patriot League Semifinals, keeping the Crusaders scoreless while striking out three batters...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE LEHIGH
Morrone joins the Mountain Hawks after a four-year varsity career at Allentown High School in New Jersey where he tallied a 2.53 career ERA with 80 strikeouts, five complete games and two shutouts in 30 appearances. Morrone was ranked as the 18th best pitcher and 48th best player in the New Jersey Class of 2015 by Perfect Game. He also played on the 9ers 17U Prime team that ranked first in New Jersey and 39th in the nation. Strong in the classroom as well, Morrone was a member of the National Honor Society in addition to the Science, Math, History and English National Honor Societies. He graduated 14th in his class of 320 students with a 4.2 GPA.
