WHY LEHIGH?
I chose Lehigh because it gave me the opportunity to pursue a major/career I love and to play baseball at the next level.
 
ON COACH LEARY
Coach Leary wants nothing more than for his players to succeed on and off the field and he is very passionate about what Lehigh baseball stands for.

2018 (SENIOR SEASON)
Made a career-high 15 appearances, all in relief…ranked third on the team in total appearances…recorded a career-high seven strikeouts in a total of 14.0 innings of work on the year…posted a career-best 4.50 ERA on the season…earned the Coaches Award for significant contributions to the well-being of the team…earned the Marlene “Linny” Fowler Service Award from the Lehigh Athletic Department…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2017 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Made all eight of his appearances out of the bullpen in middle relief situations…pitched a season-high 2.1 innings in an appearance against Iowa on March 12 during which he surrendered just one run on now hits with one walk and two strikeouts… tossed a pair of scoreless 1.0 inning outings in wins over Saint Peter’s (3/30) and Maryland Eastern Shore (4/26).
 
2016 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Made five relief appearances, throwing a total of 3.0 innings…struck out batters against Coppin State (4/6) and Dartmouth (3/18)...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2015 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Made 11 appearances out of the bullpen, hurling a total of 17.2 innings…earned his first collegiate win in a 7-4 victory over Iona after hurling 2.0 one-run frames…gave up just one run on four hits in 4.1 innings against Delaware.

BEFORE LEHIGH
A multi-sport star, Michael Schwab was the captain of Pittston Area High School’s baseball, football and basketball teams, as well as the class Valedictorian and president of his school’s National Honor Society. The southpaw threw two no-hitters during the 2014 season en route to being named an All-Conference selection. Schwab was selected to the Field of Dreams High School All-Star Game at PNC Field and earned the Plains Baseball American Legion Most Valuable Pitcher Award. He also was named the 2014 Times Tribune Scholastic Superstar.
