Lehigh to Host Holy Cross Saturday Afternoon at Stabler Arena

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh and Holy Cross will meet for the second time this season Saturday at 4 p.m. at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks enter the contest 11-10 overall and 7-4 in Patriot League play. The Crusaders have won four straight and five of their last six games, sitting at 14-8 overall and 8-3 in league play, good for second place in the Patriot League.
Lehigh women's basketball will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day as part of Saturday's game. Children ages 2-14 will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. The offer is available at the ticket office or online here.
Beginning at 2:50 p.m., kids can participate in interactive sport stations in the lobby with Lehigh female student-athletes. Children will also have opportunities to take part in on-court promotions during the game and a postgame autograph session.
Lehigh and Holy Cross previously met Jan. 7, with Lehigh earning a 60-57 win. Lily Fandre led the Mountain Hawks with 23 points, and Lehigh has won five straight meetings against Holy Cross.
Recently, Lehigh is coming off a narrow 63-62 victory over Loyola on Wednesday evening. The Mountain Hawks had four players score in double figures in the win. Belle Bramer finished with 11 points, Lily Fandre added 14 and Katie Hurt scored a career-high 10. Whitney Lind led Lehigh with 17 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and knocking down three 3-pointers.
Fandre, who scored 14 against Loyola, leads the Patriot League in scoring during league play, averaging 18.5 points per game. The Mountain Hawks also feature two of the league's top 3-point shooters by percentage, as Gracyn Lovette leads the Patriot League at 45.7%, while Fandre is shooting 41.5% in league play.
Meg Cahalan leads Holy Cross in scoring, averaging just over 15 points per game on the season. She is coming off a 23-point performance in the Crusaders' most recent win over Boston University. Cahalan also ranks third in the Patriot League in shooting percentage, connecting on 46% from the field.
