Lehigh’s Balanced Offensive Attack Secures One-Point Victory Over Loyola Maryland

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh Mountain Hawks defeated the Loyola Greyhounds 63-62 on Wednesday evening to complete a season sweep of Loyola while celebrating Joy in Education Night, presented by Lehigh's College of Education. With the win, Lehigh improved to 7-4 in Patriot League play and 11-10 overall. Loyola fell to 5-6 in league action and 9-12 on the season.
Lehigh had four players score in double figures. Belle Bramer finished with 11 points, Lily Fandre added 14, and Katie Hurt scored a career-high 10. Whitney Lind led the Mountain Hawks with 17 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and knocking down three 3-pointers.

Lehigh opened the game with a balanced scoring attack, led by Whitney Lind's seven points in the first half. Loyola outscored Lehigh 17-11 in the second quarter to pull within one at the break, with the Mountain Hawks leading 32-31.
The Mountain Hawks came out of the locker room on fire, opening the third quarter on an 18-8 run. Lily Fandre and Whitney Lind each knocked down a 3-pointer to spark a 10-2 start to the period. Katie Hurt added a corner 3 for her career high, helping Lehigh take a seven-point lead into the final quarter.
Lehigh extended its lead to nine on a 3-pointer by Whitney Lind, but Loyola fought back. Kimmie Hicks, who finished with a game-high 19 points, scored 10 of them in the fourth quarter to pull the Greyhounds back into the game. The Mountain Hawks never relinquished their lead, though Loyola tied it at 62 with 18 seconds remaining. Gracyn Lovette hit the game-winning free throw with 10 seconds left to secure the win for Lehigh.
