Schwartz Earns 200th Win In 5-2 Victory Over Temple

BETHLEHEM Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis played its second match of the spring 2026 season against the Temple Owls at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Owls 5-2 to claim their first win over Temple since 2013.

"It was a great team win today against an always tough Temple team," said Howard Talmud '77 head coach Craig Schwartz, who picked up his 200th career win with the victory. "I am proud of the resiliency the guys showed after losing a tough doubles point. It's always great to bounce back and win five of six singles matches. Back to work tomorrow to begin our preparations for Sacred Heart on Saturday, which is our first away match of the year."

Lehigh picked up the first doubles win of the night on a 6-1 victory from first-years Kosei Ogata and Henry Stoller. However, the Owls earned doubles victories at both number one and three to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Junior Alex Van Lumich got the Mountain Hawks on the board at number two with a swift 6-1, 6-0 victory over Oliver Aguilar. Lehigh then won matches via a Stoller two-setter at number five and an Ogata three-setter at number four to pull within one win of clinching. Temple kept themselves alive with a two-set win at number three, but sophomore Ofer Hacohen sealed the deal with a 6-4, 7-6 win at number one to clinch the victory for the Mountain Hawks.

Following the clinch, senior Wyeth Anzilotti won 6-0, 6-1 at number six to win five of six singles matches for Lehigh.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Saturday, February 14 at 6 p.m. on the road against Sacred Heart.
