Lehigh Falls to Drexel in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Lehigh fell to Drexel, 5-2, on Sunday in Philadelphia. With the loss, the Mountain Hawks move to 2-1 on the season.
"Today was a tough one," head coach Sophia Geier said. "We lost a really close doubles point that could have gone either way, and that obviously hurt us because we were in position to win it. I was proud of the way we fought in singles, but we were playing catch-up the whole time. Credit to Drexel for competing well, and we'll take this as a learning moment and get better from it."
On court three, Audrey Harrington and Skye Yonehara earned a 6-3 doubles victory over Drexel's Sofia Snitko and Christine Fourie. The Dragons claimed the doubles point by winning the matches on courts one and two.Â
In singles play, Lena Dogadalski earned a three-set victory on court two, defeating Sofia Snitko 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. On court six, Alina Shyani defeated Olivia Chowgule 6-1, 6-2. Drexel won the singles matches on courts one, three, four and five to secure the 5-2 victory.
