Lehigh Earns 4-3 win over Rider

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh earned a 4-3 victory over Rider on Saturday morning at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.
"Really proud of the fight we showed today. Rider pushed us hard from start to finish, and every point mattered in a tight 4-3 match," head coach Sophia Geier said. "I loved the way our team stayed composed, competed for each other and found a way to close it out when it counted most. Kudos to Skye for clinching the match."
The match began with Lehigh taking the doubles point. Lena Dogadalski and Ronit Khromchenko defeated Rider's Claire Brown and Elle Catanzarite 6-3 on court two, while Skye Tonehara and Audrey Harrington won 6-1 over Sofia Gutierrez and Anna Bong on court three to clinch the point for the Mountain Hawks.
In singles play, junior Maggie Forkner picked up her first win of the season, defeating Claire Brown 6-1, 6-4. Rider won matches on courts two, four, and five, while Giselle Vlassis earned a straight-sets victory over Jollie Marie Kaiser on court three.
With the score tied 3-3, Skye Tonehara clinched the match for the Mountain Hawks with a three-set victory over Chloe Monachelli, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
