
Lehigh Set to Host Bucknell Saturday at Stabbler Arena

BETHLEHAM, Pa.- Lehigh (5-7, 1-0) is set to host Bucknell (4-8, 0-1) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stabler Arena.
The Mountain Hawks opened league play with a win Wednesday, defeating Army 77-66. Lehigh shot a season-best 52% from the field and 50% from 3-point range, connecting on nine of 18 attempts from beyond the arc, with six of those makes coming in the first half. The Mountain Hawks also converted a season-high 24-of-27 free throws.
On the defensive end, Lehigh held Army to 40% shooting from the field and just 18% from 3-point range.
Lily Fandre and Whitney Lind each scored 18 points in the victory. Fandre went 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and has scored in double figures in six consecutive games. She is now 19 points shy of becoming the 25th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
Leia Edwards scored 10 points, all of which came in the first half of the win over Army. She was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third straight week on Dec. 8, becoming the first Mountain Hawk to earn the honor in three consecutive weeks since Kerry Kinek in 2013.
Edwards has scored in double figures in eight of the 10 games she has played this season. Edwards is averaging 13.3 points per game and nearly seven rebounds per game.
Bucknell opened league play with a 58-55 loss to Holy Cross. Junior forward Tuana Coskun leads the Bison in scoring, averaging just over 13 points per game, and scored 23 points in the loss.
A season ago, the Mountain Hawks swept Bucknell and have won six of the past seven meetings between the programs. Lehigh enters the matchup 3-2 at Stabler Arena this season, while Bucknell is 1-5 in road games.
