Lehigh Falls to Boston University at Stabler

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Boston University defeated shorthanded Lehigh 68-64 on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Terriers improved to 5-11 overall and 1-4 in Patriot League play. With the loss, Lehigh drops its first Patriot League game of the season, falling to 4-1 in league action and 8-8 overall.

Lily Fandre led Lehigh with 17 points, marking her ninth straight game scoring in double figures. Belle Bramer and Whitney Lind each added 15 points, with Bramer scoring 10 of her 15 in the first half.

With only seven players active, Lehigh opened the game on fire, knocking down five 3-pointers in the first quarter, including three straight to begin the game, to jump out to a 9-2 lead. Belle Bramer scored seven points in the opening period, converting all three of her shot attempts, as the Mountain Hawks built a 19-15 advantage after one quarter.

Boston University opened the second quarter on a 13-6 run, with Anete Alder, who finished with 15 points, scoring nine during that surge. The Terriers took the lead in the period and went into halftime ahead 36-28.

The teams traded baskets to open the third quarter as Lily Fandre scored five early points and finished the period with seven. Boston University maintained and extended its lead to 10, taking a 54-44 advantage into the fourth quarter. 

Lehigh opened the fourth quarter on a 12-6 run. Lily Fandre, who scored nine points in the period, hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to four with just over three minutes remaining. Whitney Lind later knocked down a pair of free throws to pull the Mountain Hawks within one with just over a minute left.

However, Boston University held off Lehigh down the stretch to secure a 68-64 victory at Stabler Arena.
