Mountain Hawks Seek Third Straight Win At Boston U. Wednesday

1/13/2026 10:59:00 AM | Men's Basketball

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball looks to win their third game in a row on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. on the road at Case Gymnasium against the Boston University Terriers.

Lehigh (6-11, 2-2 PL) trails Boston U. (7-10, 2-2 PL) in the all-time series 17-10 and swept the season series in 2024-25. The Mountain Hawks last defeated the Terriers in an 84-79 overtime win in the 2024 Patriot League semifinals. Boston U. has won eight of the previous ten meetings between the two schools.

If Lehigh wins, head coach Brett Reed would win his 294th game, putting him only six away from becoming the second coach in Patriot League history to reach 300 wins.

Sophomore Hank Alvey's layup with three seconds remaining was the game-winner for Lehigh men's basketball in a 78-77 road victory over the Colgate Raiders at Cotterell Court on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Edouard Benoit recorded career-highs of 27 points and 11 rebounds on route to Lehigh's first road win of the season. Alvey continued his hot start to Patriot League play, tallying a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds while also blocking four shots. Despite facing foul trouble early on, Whitlock scored 12 points in only 23 minutes of action. Ingram also scored in double-digits with 11 points to go along with four assists, a block, and a steal.

The Terriers enter Wednesday's game with a record of 7-10 and 2-2 in league play. Boston U. started league play 0-2 before picking up wins last week over Lafayette and Army. The Terriers have been plagued by injuries this season, most notably Preseason All-League selection Kyrone Alexander, who has only played in one game. Michael McNair leads the team in scoring at 16.6 points per game and is the reigning Patriot League Player of the Week. Ben Defty (13.2 ppg) and Chance Gladden (12.8 ppg) also average double-digits for Boston U.

Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will host first-place Navy at Stabler Arena on Saturday, January 17 at 2 p.m.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and is available on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
