
Lehigh Welcomes No. 12/13 Richmond Saturday Afternoon

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse will host its second-ranked opponent when the Mountain Hawks play No. 12/13 Richmond on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.Â
The Mountain Hawks are looking for their first win of the season. Lehigh suffered an 18-10 loss to No. 3 Cornell on Feb. 15. The Big Red scored five goals in each of the first two quarters and would hold the lead for the remainder of the game.
Senior midfielder Dakota Eierman and sophomore attackman Luke Winkler led the way with three points apiece (2G, 1A). Senior attackman Andrew Kelly (2G), first-year attackman Luke Breslin (1G, 1A), junior midfielder Grant Rodny (1G, 1A) sophomore and Hunter Polonkey (2A) also recorded multiple points against the Big Red.Â
Eierman has put up a team-high seven points, scoring six goals while dishing out an assist. Breslin is next with six points (3G, 3A).Â
Junior defenseman Richard Checo finished with two caused turnovers and has recorded multiple caused turnovers in each of Lehigh's three games.
Through his first three collegiate starts, sophomore goalkeeper Kasey Heath has looked the part, ranking fourth in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse with 15.67 saves per game. Against Cornell, he racked up a career-high 20 saves. The Kent Island, Md., native holds a 55.3% save percentage.
Senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow has taken most of the faceoffs, going 22-of-51 from the stripe. Sophomore faceoff specialist Connor Riley is next, winning 9-of-19 battles at the stripe.Â
The Spiders are coming off of a massive win, defeating the University of Virginia 13-10 on Feb. 15. The Spiders scored six goals in the opening quarter and they would hold the lead for the remainder of the game. Lucas Littlejohn led the way with six points (4G, 2A). Littlejohn (7G, 3A) and Aidan O'Neil (8G, 2A) lead the way with 10 points for Richmond.Â
Zach Vigue has been Richmond's primary goalkeeper, racking up 23 saves through three games played.Â
Saturday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between Lehigh and Richmond. Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Next up, Lehigh will travel to Villanova for a Friday matchup at 4 p.m.Â
