800-Yard Free Relay Team Sets School Record on Day 1 of Patriots

Lehigh men's and women's swimming and diving kicked off competition on Day 1 of the Patriot League Championships at Kinney Natatorium on Thursday afternoon in Lewisburg.
The first day of competition was highlighted by the men's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Frankie Prekop, Jack Deppe, Connor Goodyear, and Tim Norris, who set a school record with a time of 6:36.05. The team finished in sixth place.
For the women, the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Willa Werwaiss, Mairin Ludwig, Caitlin Deitch, and Maggie Mikalic earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 7:18.29. This was Lehigh's best finish of the day, just one second shy of a podium spot, which would have marked the second consecutive year the Mountain Hawks medaled in this event.
Day 1 began with the three-meter dive. Kate Whitaker finished 14th with a score of 226.65 points, while teammate Sarah Gill placed 16th, scoring 216.55 points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Anushree Ghate, Zoe Davies, Clara Moschella, and Deitch finished eighth with a time of 1:43.06. On the men's side, Ben Kisker, Jack DeVilbiss, Aaron Williams, and Norris swam to a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:28.21.
Both the men's and women's teams are currently in fifth place after Day 1.
Tuesday's events will begin with preliminaries at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m. All Patriot League Championship sessions will be aired on ESPN+.
