BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse hosts No. 3 Cornell on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex in its second home game of the season. The Mountain Hawks are searching for their first win of the season after dropping their first two games. Saturday's game will be the season opener for Cornell.

Lehigh is coming off of a 10-7 loss to Fairfield on Feb. 7. The Mountain Hawks struggled to take care of the ball, committing 26 turnovers. Senior midfielder Dakota Eierman netted the team's first hat trick of the season to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks.

Junior midfielder Grant Rodny also tallied multiple points, scoring two goals. Sophomore Kasey Heath had a career-high day in the loss to Fairfield, tallying 14 saves and a 60% save percentage in net. Heath has tallied 27 saves and a 57.4% save percentage in his first two collegiate starts.

Eierman and first-year attackman Luke Breslin both have recorded a team-high of four points through two games.

Junior defenseman Richard Checo continues to wreak havoc, leading the way with six caused turnovers. Junior defenseman and 2024 Patriot League Tournament MVP Luke McAuliffe is next on the team in caused turnovers with three.

The Big Red finished 9-5 last season, falling 18-11 to Princeton in the Ivy League Championship. Cornell returns its leading scorer from last season in Tewaaraton Finalist CJ Kirst. Kirst put up 67 points on 45 goals and 22 assists in 2024. Kirst is one of 22 letter winners who return from last season.

Saturday's game will mark the third straight year Lehigh faces Cornell. The Mountain Hawks suffered a 17-13 loss last year at Cornell. The Big Red used a 6-3 run in the second quarter to help propel them to the win.  Lehigh is 9-11-3 all-time against the Big Red, having last defeated Cornell in 1916.
