BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Two 2025 NCAA Tournament teams meet Saturday night as Lehigh visits Mahoney Arena to face the Fairfield Stags. Both teams are coming off opening night victories. Game time is set for 7 p.m. with broadcast coverage on ESPN+.
Lehigh won 88-85 Tuesday night at Big 12 member Cincinnati as the Mountain Hawks beat a power conference team for the second consecutive season and knocked off a Big 12 member for the first time since defeating West Virginia in December 1999.
Juniors Whitney Lind and Jessie Ozzauto led the way with career-best performances. Lind, a northern Kentucky native, scored 26 points in her homecoming game, while Ozzauto scored 25 points and added seven rebounds. Senior Lily Fandre had the game-tying layup with 57 seconds remaining and then hit two go-ahead free throws with 12.9 seconds to play.
The Mountain Hawks went 27-7 last season and squared off against Duke in the NCAA Tournament.
Fairfield opened its season with a 75-63 victory at Villanova on Wednesday night. Meghan Andersen poured in 35 points, including the 1,000th point of her career to lead the way. Andersen and Kaety L'Amoreaux were both named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
The Stags have won back-to-back MAAC titles. Fairfield was 28-5 last year and played Kansas State in the NCAA Tournament. The year before, the Stags went 31-2 and lost to Indiana in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Saturday's game marks the sixth all-time meeting between Lehigh and Fairfield. The Mountain Hawks lead the series 4-1 and have won four consecutive meetings.
