STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Belle Bramer scored a team-best 13 points while playing in front of family and friends, but the Lehigh women's basketball team couldn't slow down hot-shooting Stanford as the Cardinal defeated the Mountain Hawks 98-43 Sunday at Maples Pavilion.
Stanford shot 67 percent from the field, scored 60 of its 98 points in the paint and turned 17 Lehigh turnovers into 24 points to move to 7-0 on the season.
Bramer was the lone Mountain Hawk to score in double figures. Lehigh (2-4) shot just 30 percent from the field and made just 6-of-31 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Nunu Agara led five Stanford players in double figures with 24 points, shooting a perfect 10-of-10 from the field.
Stanford scored the game's first 11 points before first-year Ellie Mjaanes connected on a 3-pointer. First-year Alana Reddy and senior Lily Fandre also connected on triples as Lehigh trailed 25-9 after one quarter.
Bramer scored five of Lehigh's nine points in the second quarter, as Lehigh trailed 52-18 at halftime.
The Mountain Hawks put together a 19-point third quarter, looking to cut into the deficit, but trailed 75-37 after three. Bramer scored six more points, while junior Jessie Ozzauto connected on a pair of 3-pointers in the frame. First-year Leia Edwards scored all five of her points in the third as well.
Stanford never relented, scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter while Lehigh shot just 2-of-16 from the field over the last 10 minutes.
Ozzauto was second behind Bramer with eight points, while Edwards and Fandre both had five. Edwards added a team-best five rebounds. Junior Gracyn Lovette, another northern California native playing close to home, scored four points and added a team-leading three assists in her homecoming game
The Mountain Hawks will close out their California trip Tuesday night with a game at San Francisco. Game time is set for 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
