11/17/2025 5:34:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball will play its first game of the season at Stabler Arena on Tuesday when the team welcomes Saint Francis at 7 p.m. The first 350 fans in attendance will receive a free Lehigh basketball schedule magnet.
Lehigh (1-3) and Saint Francis (0-3) are familiar foes, having faced one another consecutively every year since 2007-08 (with the exception of the shortened 2020-21 season). The Red Flash picked up an 88-78 win last season in Loretto and have won six of the last ten meetings.
If Lehigh wins, they will extend their series lead over Saint Francis to 13-9. In addition, head coach Brett Reed's all-time record against the Red Flash would move to 12-6.
Lehigh made the quick trip east on Friday evening for a non-league tilt against Big Ten foe Rutgers University. The Mountain Hawks cut the lead to as little as two points with under eight minutes remaining in the game, but the Scarlet Knights closed out an 84-72 win at Jersey Mike's Arena. Nasir Whitlock led the way offensively for Lehigh, scoring a season-high 21 points on 7-16 shooting. Joshua Ingram finished the night with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds on 5-9 shooting and 4-6 from three. Hank Alvey joined them in double-figures with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Making his first career start, Peter Kramer chipped in seven points and a career-high four steals in 25 minutes of action.
The Red Flash enter Tuesday's game with an 0-3 record, having lost at Oklahoma and TCU before dropping their home opener to Mount St. Mary's last Tuesday. Saint Francis is in its final year of Division-I status before the school reclassifies to Division-III ahead of the 2026-27 school year. Skylar Wicks leads the team offensively at 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while Zion Russell also averages double-figures at 14.7 points per game.
Following Tuesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will return to Stabler Arena to take on Columbia on Friday, November 21 at 6 p.m.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and will be available on Fox Sports 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
