11/18/2025 10:38:00 PM | Men's Basketball

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball played its first game inside Stabler Arena this season on Tuesday evening against the Saint Francis Red Flash. Five Mountain Hawks scored in double-figures to lead Lehigh to a 79-62 team victory.

Lehigh (2-3) and Saint Francis (0-4) are familiar foes, having played every year consecutively since 2007 with the exception of the shortened 2020-21 season. The Mountain Hawks snapped a two-game skid to the Red Flash and now have a 13-9 advantage in the all-time series.

The Mountain Hawks and Red Flash traded buckets through the first seven minutes of action, exchanging the lead three times in the process. Leading 19-18 with under ten minutes to play in the first half, the Mountain Hawks gained a little cushion off an 8-4 run to take a five-point lead with 6:52 to play. Saint Francis once again trimmed the lead to one at 27-26, but Lehigh closed out the first half strong with a 16-6 run to take a 43-32 advantage into the locker room.

Saint Francis managed to trim their deficit to ten points through the opening two minutes of the second stanza, but a 15-7 run over next eight minutes helped Lehigh keep a comfortable lead. The Mountain Hawks continued to perform down the stretch, eventually taking their largest lead of the night at 75-53 with under five minutes to play. Lehigh finished the second half shooting 48% from the field to close out a dominant victory.

Lehigh posted shooting splits of 47.4% (27-57) from the floor, 33.3% (8-24) from three and 65.4% (17-26) from the free throw line while limiting Saint Francis to 40.7% (24-59) from the field, 31.3% (5-16) from three and 69.2% (9-13) from the line. The Mountain Hawks outrebounded the Red Flash 37-33 for the game. In addition, Lehigh's defense forced a season-high 18 turnovers that generated 18 points.

Junior captain Nasir Whitlock starred for Lehigh, nearly eclipsing his career-high with 23 points to go along with three rebounds, three steals and two made triples. Whitlock has now scored 20+ points in consecutive games after putting up 21 at Rutgers on November 14.

Sophomores Alfredo Addesa and Peter Kramer both reached new career-highs, each posting 12 points. Sophomore Hank Alvey joined his classmates with 12 points himself while grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out four assists and blocking four shots.

Junior Joshua Ingram also reached double-figures with ten points, a team-high eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Junior Jalen Vazquez impressed in his first game at Stabler Arena, scoring four points with four assists and three steals. First-year Caleb Thomas chipped in six points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Red Flash were led by a double-double from Skylar Wicks with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Zion Russell (11p) and Ahmad Harrison (11p) also reached double-digits for Saint Francis.

The Mountain Hawks return to Stabler Arena on Friday, November 21 at 6 p.m. for a date against Columbia University.
