Lehigh Kicks Off Season With Brown and White Intrasquad

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's wrestling held its annual Brown and White Intrasquad Thursday night inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. Eight bouts were contested following a late scratch at 125 as the Mountain Hawks unofficially kicked off the 2025-26 campaign.
Four of the eight bouts ended in bonus-point victories, beginning with the opening bout at 141, as senior Carter Bailey won a 22-1 technical fall over deferred first-year Seamus Mack. Bailey led 10-0 after two periods and leading by 13 late, took Mack to his back for seven points in the final seconds of the third period to secure the technical fall.
At 149, sophomore Matt Repos made a first period takedown stand in a 5-2 decision over deferred first-year Jadon Skellenger.
The first win for the White team came at 157 as sophomore Griffin Gonzalez edged graduate student Zac Martin 8-6. Martin escaped to take a 5-4 lead early in the third period before Gonzalez answered with the go-ahead takedown and added riding time as well.
Senior Max Brignola closed out the first half of the Intrasquad with a 22-7 technical fall over junior Owen Quinn at 165. Brignola scored seven takedowns, the final of which ended the match at the 5:27 mark.
There were three bouts at 174 Thursday night. Sophomore Richie Grungo started things with a 17-5 major decision over sophomore Liam Gil-Swiger. Grungo totaled five takedowns in his victory.
Deferred first-year Dom Federici scored takedowns in each of the first two periods to defeat true first-year Duncan Christensen 6-3. Christensen scored two escapes and then rode out the final period.
In his Grace Hall debut, deferred first-year Bekhruz Sadriddinov posted an impressive 19-4 technical fall over senior Keegan Gagnon. Sadriddinov totaled five first-period takedowns before scoring an escape and takedown in the second to end the match at 3:37.
The final bout of the night went to graduate student JT Davis, who broke a 1-1 tie with a third period takedown plus riding time in a 5-1 decision over junior Remy Brancato-Roed.
Lehigh will open the 2025-26 season at the Nov. 2 Princeton Open in New Jersey. The dual season will begin at Journeymen WrangleMania, Nov. 8 at nearby Liberty High School, where Lehigh will face Duke and Virginia. The home dual opener is Dec. 5 when Lehigh hosts Pittsburgh inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall.
