The Rivalry Returns to Bethlehem Saturday Afternoon

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute returns to Stabler Arena as Lehigh women's basketball hosts Lafayette on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are 15-4 (6-1 PL) and the Leopards are 5-13 (2-5 PL).Â

Lehigh is on a four-game winning streak. The Mountain Hawks defeated American 61-55 on Jan. 22. Lehigh trailed by as many as six points in the fourth frame, but the Mountain Hawks outscored the Eagles 14-7 in the fourth quarter to hold onto the win. Lehigh has had success at home this season, going 9-1 at Stabler Arena.
Fifth-year wing Maddie Albrecht paced the way against American with a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette also finished in double figures, scoring 12 points of her own. Lovette also recorded five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals.Â
Senior guard Meghan O'Brien and junior forward Lily Fande both tallied seven points apiece and senior guard Colleen McQuillen and sophomore forward Whitney Lind finished with six points apiece. Lind also recorded a career-high four assists.Â
Lafayette was on a five-game losing streak before picking up a 60-59 victory over Loyola on Jan. 22. The Leopards outscored the Greyhounds 22-13 in the fourth frame to pick up the comeback victory. Abby Antognoli led the way in the win with a team-high 21 points.Â
Antognoli averages a team-high 13 points per game. Kay Donahue also averages double figures with 10.1 points per game.
Saturday's game will mark the 108th meeting all-time between the two teams. Lehigh leads the all-time series 58-49.Â
The Mountain Hawks split the season series last season, with the Leopards last defeating Lehigh 68-63 on Feb. 24, 2024.Â
If Lehigh wins on Saturday, it would mark the 50th career win for head coach Addie Micir. Micir is 49-31 in three seasons.Â
Next up, Lehigh will travel to Annapolis, Md., to face Navy on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Wednesday's game will be aired on ESPN+.Â
