Lykens To Be Inducted Into West Chester Athletics Hall Of Fame

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh head field hockey coach Kelsi Lykens will be inducted into the West Chester Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday.

At West Chester, Lykens was a two-time national champion and a two-time first team All-American. She helped lead the Rams to back-to-back NCAA Division II national titles in 2011 and 2012. Lykens was named the conference player of the year and the Division II Honda Award recipient in field hockey in 2013. She tallied 33 goals and 95 points in her 81 career games at West Chester, ranking seventh all-time in goals and sixth in points in the Division II era at the university. Lykens was a two-time, first time All-PSAC selection during her time as a Ram.

The Mohrsville, Pa. native earned a bachelor's degree in professional studies with a minor in health and professional education in May 2014.

In her first year at the helm of Lehigh's field hockey program, the Mountain Hawks finished 9-8 overall and 2-4 in Patriot League play. Senior Julia Gatelein was named to the NFHCA Mideast Region second team, 2023 Division I Senior Team and was a First Team All-Patriot League selection. Sophomore Kiki Mes along with senior Lotte Smorenburg landed on the second team with Smorenburg also earning a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team. In the classroom, eight Mountain Hawks were named to the 2023 NFHCA Division I Academic Squad.
