Lehigh Plays at Army West Point in Regular Season Finale

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball closes out the regular season at Army West Point on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are 16-12 (8-9 PL), and the Black Knights are 12 15 (9-5 PL). 

Lehigh is currently tied for seventh place in the Patriot League standings with Navy. Lehigh can be as high as the fourth seed in the Patriot League Tournament and as low as the ninth seed. With a win, the Mountain Hawks are guaranteed to finish anywhere from the fourth seed to the ninth seed. Army is in a three-way tie for the fourth seed. 

Lehigh picked up a crucial win over Colgate on Senior Day on March 2, defeating the Raiders 55-47. The Mountain Hawks were down by 12 points in the third quarter, but went on a 19-4 run to end the final 8:37 of the quarter to take a 41-38 lead entering the final frame. The Mountain Hawks continued to extend their lead in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Senior guard Maddie Albrecht was instrumental in helping lead Lehigh to a comeback victory, scoring 10 of her 14 points in the third quarter. Albrecht's 14 points were a team-high, and she also corralled a team-high of five rebounds and a team-high of two steals. Albrecht is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.9 points per game. She also leads the team in field goal percentage (51.6%). Albrecht has now scored in double figures 11 times this season. 

Junior forward Meghan O'Brien was the only other player to finish in double figures against Colgate (11 points). O'Brien is fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 9.3 points per game. She averages a team-best 6.0 points per game. She's also reached double figures in 13 games this season. 

Junior guard Ella Stemmer leads the team in points per game with 13.5. The Ann Arbor, Mich. native needs just three more three-pointers to tie Danielle Baldwin '00 for the ninth-most career three-pointers in program history (141). 

Lehigh and Army met on Feb. 21 with the Mountain Hawks rolling to a 77-60 win over the Black Knights. Three Mountain Hawks finished in double figures, and Lehigh shot 58.3% from the field, which marked a  season-best performance. Albrecht had a career-high night, recording 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. O'Brien and Colleen McQuillen both scored 16 points. Trinity Hardy led the way for Army with 22 points. Hardy averages a team-high of 11.9 points per game.

Lehigh leads the all-time series 39-36. The Mountain Hawks have won the last three meetings.
