Mountain Hawks End Regular Season at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team closed out the regular season at the Navy Invitational Saturday afternoon at Lejeune Hall.
Lehigh had five swimmers in the top nine in the 500-yard freestyle, led by Dagny Donaldson, who came in second with a time of 5:00.58. Lehigh then had a six-seven-eight-nine punch as Willa Werwaiss finished in sixth (5:06.29), Sarah Hardy came in seventh (5:06.42), Maggie Mikalic tallied an eighth-place finish (5:07.35), and Caitlin Deitch came in ninth (5:11.06).
Donaldson didn't stop at the 500-yard freestyle as she finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.03). Werwaiss was just ahead of Donaldson, as she tallied a sixth-place mark (1:54.30).
Noel Fresa tallied an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (59.54), while teammates Darrah Shuff came in 16th (1:01.05), Julia Stevens came in 18th (1:01.38), and Jordan MacDonald came in 20th (1:01.82).
Lehigh also did well in the 100-yard breaststroke as Caitlin Deitch finished in fourth (1:06.29) while Sarah Santos tallied an eighth-place mark (1:07.71), followed by Danielle Prekop, who finished in 10th (1:08.02).
Santos also placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.33.
Mairin Ludwig recorded a third-place mark in the 400-yard IM (4:31.99). Sarah Hardy finished third in the 100-yard butterfly (55.97).
The Mountain Hawks will begin training for the Patriot League Championships, which will be held at Navy from Feb. 21-24.
