Mountain Hawks Head To Delaware For Midweek Clash

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After playing a three-game series against Charleston Southern this past weekend, Lehigh baseball now sets its sights on a midweek clash with the Delaware Blue Hens. The two teams will play ball on Tuesday, February 27 at 4 p.m. in Newark.
Lehigh (3-3) and Delaware (4-2) last faced off against each other for a doubleheader in Bethlehem back in 2021. The Mountain Hawks took game one 3-2 and fell to the Blue Hens 5-0 in game two. The two schools have played over 80 games in the head-to-head series, the first of which was played in 1905.
Najir Glenn will get the call on the mound for Lehigh in what will be his first appearance of the season. The left-handed junior posted a 1-2 record across twelve appearances and three starts as well as 25 strikeouts and a save in 2023. Right-handed redshirt senior Nate Rolka gets the nod for Delaware after tossing 2.0 innings against Delaware State on February 20. He holds a career 5.82 ERA over 37 appearances.
The Mountain Hawks last played a three-game series against Charleston Southern Buccaneers, dropping two games while winning one. Lehigh earned a 13-9 win over the Bucs in game one but were unable to claim a series victory, dropping game two 17-6 and game three 7-6. Their weekend came off the heels of a season-opening tournament that saw Lehigh claim wins over Michigan State and #20 Iowa.
The Blue Hens traveled to Northern Florida for a three-game series with the Jacksonville Dolphins. Delaware split a doubleheader with Jacksonville on Saturday and picked up a 2-1 win on Sunday to take the series. The Blue Hens will host Lehigh before welcoming Lafayette to Newark for a three-game series this upcoming weekend.
