Lehigh Ends Non-League Slate Against Misericordia

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will close out the non-league slate against Misericordia on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks come into Sunday's game with an 8-3 record. The Cougars are 2-7. Sunday's game will air on ESPN+.
If Lehigh wins on Sunday, it will mark the second straight season that the Mountain Hawks finished 9-3 in non-league play. Lehigh last took the court on Dec. 21, defeating Wofford 69-64.Â
Fifth-year wing Maddie Albrecht was a major reason the Mountain Hawks came away with the win, as she tallied a season-tying 21 points. Holding a 63-62 lead with one minute remaining, Albrecht scored four straight points for Lehigh to help secure the victory. She also grabbed a game-high six rebounds. Albrecht has finished in double figures in 10 of Lehigh's 11 games.
Junior forward Lily Fandre and senior guard Ella Stemmer also finished in double figures, both scoring 15 points apiece. Albrecht, Fandre and Stemmer all average double figures. Albrecht leads the way with a team-high 14.7Â points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. Albrecht's 14.7 points per game are the fifth-most in the Patriot League and her 52.7% field goal percentage is the best in the league.Â
Stemmer is second on the team in scoring with 13.1 points per game and Fandre is third in scoring with 11.8 points per game. Fandre is just six three-pointers away from her 100th career three-pointer.Â
Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette dished out a game-high of five assists against Wofford. Lovette is second on the team in assists with 37. Senior guard Colleen McQuillen is right ahead of Lovette with 39 assists. McQuillen is fifth in the league in assists per game (3.6). Lovette is sixth in the league in assists per game (3.5)
Misericordia is on a three-game losing streak, most recently suffering a 72-46 loss to Susquehanna on Dec. 17. The Cougars are led by Joceyln Grosch, who averages 9.8 points per game.Â
Misericordia averages 49.6 points per game and Lehigh averages 67.8 points per game. The Mountain Hawks average 8.4 three-pointers per game and the Cougars average 3.8 three-pointers per game.
Sunday's game will mark the first-ever matchup between Misericordia.Â
