BETHLEHEM, Pa - Lehigh women's basketball picked up its third straight win after rolling to a 80-61 victory over Hofstra Friday night at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks improved to 4-1 and the Pride dropped to 2-3 on the season.

"I was proud of our toughness," said head coach Addie Micir. "They tried to throw their big inside and get us on switches, but we had a great ball pressure and great weak side help, and I was just really proud of their toughness."

Four different players scored in double figures on Friday, with fifth-year Maddie Albrecht leading the way with a season-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Albrecht has now scored in double figures in each of Lehigh's five games.

"It's so fun to watch, and she's everyone's favorite teammate," Micir said. "She does all the little things, and what you don't see on the stat sheet is her ability to scramble, her ability to guard, and her ability to make sure she covers her teammates' mistakes."

Meghan O'Brien chipped in a season-high 14 points, Whitney Lind also tallied a season-high 11 points and Lily Fandre netted 10 points. O'Brien and Fandre also both corralled a team-high of six rebounds.

"When four people score in double figures, we are really hard to guard," Micir said.

The Mountain Hawks were effective from the field on Friday, going 22-of-50 (44%). Lehigh was also 8-of-24 from deep (33.3%). Hofstra struggled offensively, going 24-of-72 from the field (33.3%). The Pride had 22 more shots than Lehigh after corralling 18 offensive rebounds to Lehigh's 10. Hofstra also had a 41-38 advantage on the glass.

After a close first half with Lehigh leading 36-29 after the first 20 minutes, the third quarter was the difference, with Lehigh outscoring Hofstra 22-9.

Sophomore guard Jessie Ozzauto knocked down a three-pointer to put Lehigh up by 23 points with 2:26 remaining in the third quarter, and that would be the largest lead of the night for the Mountain Hawks.

While Hofstra won the fourth quarter, holding a 23-22 advantage, it would not be enough for the Pride after they were down by 20 points entering the final frame.

Free throws also played a major role in the second half with Lehigh going 19-of-24 from the charity stripe. Hofstra was 5-of-15 from the free throw line in the second half. Three different players fouled out for Hofstra.

Colleen McQuillen and Gracyn Lovette combined for nine of Lehigh's 14 assists. McQuillen tallied a game-high five assists and Lovette dished out four assists.

Lehigh controlled the momentum for the majority of the game, carrying the lead for 36:29 on Friday.

Next up, the Mountain Hawks will travel to Philadelphia to take on La Salle on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
