PHILADELPHIA - Lehigh women's basketball dropped a closely-contested 68-65 game to La Salle Tuesday night at John Glaser Arena. With the loss, Lehigh fell to 4-2 on the season and the Explorers jumped to 4-3.

Lehigh shot well on Tuesday, going 25-of-45 (55.6%) from the field, but turnovers and rebounding proved to be the difference in the loss on Tuesday as Lehigh committed 28 turnovers. The Explorers finished with 23 turnovers of their own.

La Salle held a 29-28 advantage on the glass and a 10-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The Explorers had 12 more shots than Lehigh, shooting 23-of-57 (40.4%) from the field.

Three Mountain Hawks finished in double figures. Fifth-year Maddie Albrecht led the way with a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds, senior guard Ella Stemmer tallied 14 points and junior forward Lily Fandre chipped in 10 points. Senior forward Meghan O'Brien was right behind them, recording eight of her own points.

Tuesday's game was a back-and-forth one that featured 13 lead changes and three ties. No team held a double-digit lead. Lehigh's largest lead of the night was six points and La Salle's largest lead of the game was nine points.

After the first 20 minutes of action, La Salle held a 34-29 lead.

The Mountain Hawks started chipping away in the fourth quarter, taking a 45-41 lead with 3:49 left in the third quarter, but the Explorers ended the quarter on an 8-0 run to take a 49-48 lead heading into the final frame.

Lehigh was able to cut its deficit to one point with 2:02 remaining in the game after an O'Brien turnaround jump shot, but the Mountain Hawks didn't have an answer for the Explorers, who outscored Lehigh 6-3 in the final two minutes.

Aryss Macktoon and Ashleigh Connor both finished with 15 points for La Salle.

Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette finished the game with a career-high of five steals.
