294 Has Lehigh Leading UAlbany Invitational After Opening Round

DELMAR, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's golf team shot 294 – the second-lowest – single round score in program history – to take the 18-hole lead Saturday at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational Saturday at Normanside Country Club. The Mountain Hawks lead a 12-team field including second place Merrimack by three stroke entering Sunday's final round.
The Mountain Hawks have two players in the individual top five, with first-year Reese Hannon shooting 71 and sophomore Stefania Fedun shooting 72. Hannon is tied for the individual lead with Christy Chen of Boston U. while Fedun is tied for third place. Both Hannon and Fedun carded four birdies in their opening rounds.
Senior Madison Pineda shot 75 and is tied for 14th place with junior Yuki Zhu shooting 76 and tying for 22nd. Pineda made two birdies, while Zhu made one on Saturday.
First-year Alana Hall is tied for 47th after an opening round 81.Hall made three birdies Saturday.
The final round of the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational begins Sunday at 8 a.m. with Lehigh beginning play at 8:50 a.m. The Mountain Hawks will play with Merrimack and Seton Hall on Sunday.
