Mountain Hawks Tie For Fourth At Rain-Shortened Quinnipiac Classic

WALLINGFORD, Conn. – Inclement weather Monday shortened the Quinnipiac Classic to 36 holes. After play in Monday's opening round was halted at the Farms Country Club, play resumed Tuesday with the completion of round one and all of round two. Lehigh tied for fourth place out of 11 teams with a final score of 632 (324-308).

Senior Yuki Zhu led the way for the Mountain Hawks, tying for 14th place at 156 (83-73). The second round 73 was the low round of the tournament. Zhu carded one birdie in round one and two in the final round.

Sophomore Reese Hannon tied for 17th place at 157 (78-79). Hannon also totaled three birdies for the tournament with two coming in round one. Hannon's 78 paced the Mountain Hawks in the first round.

One stroke behind Hannon was junior Stefania Fedun, who tied for 20th place at 158 (81-77). Fedun made two birdies in round two.

Sophomore Alana Hall tied for 27th place at 161 (82-79). First-year Alisia Ren was one stroke behind, tying for 33rd place with rounds of 83 and 79. Ren made one birdie in round one.

Lehigh's individual, first-year Sienna Mosquera finished in 62nd place at 180 (95-85).

Quinnipiac won its own tournament with a final score of 608 (311-297). The Bobcats defeated second place by three strokes.

The individual medalist was Harvard's Vanessa Zhang at one under par 143 (72-71). Zhang defeated Cynthia Zhang of Boston College by six strokes.

The Mountain Hawks will close out their fall slate when they host the Lehigh Invitational, Oct. 25-26 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.
