Mountain Hawks Take Tightly-Contested Team Title at Lehigh Invitational

BEDMINSTER, N.J. – A tight team race unfolded at the Lehigh Invitational, with the Mountain Hawks ultimately edging Penn by a single stroke to claim the team title Sunday at Trump National Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament at 609 (306-303), with Lehigh defeating Penn by a single stroke and first-round leader Old Dominion finishing two strokes behind.
 
The team title is the first for the Mountain Hawks since winning the SMSU Spring Classic in March 2023.
 
Sophomore Reese Hannon and senior Yuki Zhu were the low Mountain Hawks on the weekend, as both players tied for sixth place at five over par 149. Hannon followed an opening round 71 with a 78 Sunday, carding two birdies, while Zhu shot 76-73. On Sunday, Zhu had one birdie and 15 pars.
 
First-year Alisia Ren finished in 15th place at 155 (78-77). Ren made 13 pars in Sunday's final round.
 
Sophomore Alana Hall tied for 16th place at 156, bouncing back from an 81 Saturday with a 75 Sunday. Hall had a team-high five birdies in her final round.
 
Leading Lehigh's three individuals was first-year Bridget Yu, who tied for 23rd place at 158 (82-76). Yu's final round 76 included four birdies.
 
Junior Stefania Fedun was Lehigh's fifth scoring player and tied for 52nd place at 165 (81-84). Fedun made a pair of birdies in her final round.
 
First-year Sienna Mosquera shot 169 (86-83) and finished in 65th place. Mosquera made one birdie in her final round.
 
Junior Bella Scanapicco shot 173 (81-92) and tied for 71st.
 
Navy's Emma Tang and Old Dominion's Puneet Bajwa tied for medalist honors at three over par 147.
 
The Lehigh Invitational concludes Lehigh's fall season. The Mountain Hawks will open their spring campaign in February.
