
Lehigh Splits Tri Meet Versus West Chester and Bloomsburg

WEST CHESTER, PA. - The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team split its tri-meet against West Chester and Bloomsburg, as the Mountain Hawks lost 159-81 to West Chester while defeating Bloomsburg 160-62. Lehigh moved to 2-1 on the season after defeating Rider Friday in the season opener.Â
For the second straight day, Lehigh's first-years shined. First-year Frankie Prekop won the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.52), first-year Tristan Ronayne picked up his first collegiate win after winning the 200-yard backstroke (1:52.84), and first-year Jack Deppe tallied a first-place mark in the 200-yard IM (1:53.86).Â
While he didn't get the win, first-year Will Pestrichelli tallied a second-place mark in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:36.14) while teammate Alfredo Figueroa came in fourth place with a time of 16:59.04.
First-year Chase Bearley tallied a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle after finishing with a time of 47.41.
The 400-yard medley relay team with Ben Kisker, Jack DeVilbiss, Aaron Wiliams and Tim Norris tallied a second-place mark after swimming a time of 3:26.35.
Senior diver Jack Grotke came in fourth place in the one-meter dive (129.83) and fourth in the three-meter dive (111.30).
Next up, Lehigh will take on Colgate on Nov. 2 in Hamilton, N.Y. in the Patriot League opener.Â
