BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's track and field team rolled over Lafayette 108-77 in The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute on Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks won 12 out of 17 events, with 12 women earning PRs.

"I'm very, very proud of what we've done," said head coach Khayla Atte. "We have a lot of really strong first-years, they really showed up. We also did something we haven't done before - every coach put their own entries and I agreed. I trust my gut, I believe in the athletes and I believe in my coaches the same way.

"One thing I said to the team in a meeting the other day was 'How many of you have come into a practice or meet feeling great and then performed horribly? How many of you have come into a meet feeling bad and then surprised yourself with how great you did?' The constant is your performance - that you had to compete. The feelings are always going to change, so you have to be focused on the competition."

THROWS:
Sophomore Jennifer Whipple earned PRs in both the weight throw (14.79m) and the shot put (11.15m), winning the weight throw and taking second in the shot put. First-year Avery Dowkus continues to shine in her rookie campaign, winning the shot put with a 12.74m throw.

JUMPS:
Lehigh claimed first in the pole vault with sophomore Laura Reigle jumping 3.81m. In the high jump, junior Izabel Fronc earned the win with a PR of 1.69m. Senior Kerry Perna claimed second with her own PR of 1.64m. Junior Lauren Roy was Lehigh's top finisher in the long jump, taking second place with a PR of 5.35m.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
The Mountain Hawks swept distance/mid-distance events with three student-athletes earning PRs. Junior Svea Wickelgren won the 800 with 2:15.39, while first-year Siri Hellenbrand followed behind with a PR of 2:20.15.

In the 1000m, sophomore Abby Klebe picked up five points with a first-place time of 2:53.50. Junior Riley Morrell claimed second with a PR of 2:59.68. Lehigh nabbed the top three spots in the mile led by senior Christina Yakaboski in first (5:01.14), junior Savanah Beavers in second (5:08.53) and senior Andrine Larsen landing in third with a PR of 5:11.29. Senior Lindsay MacLellan won the 3000m, clocking in at a PR of 10:05.40.

Following her record-breaking performance in the 4x800 last weekend, junior Grace Kennedy won and PRed in the 400 (57.93). Sophomore Sydney Kusner earned fifth place with a PR of 1:03.84. Kennedy went on to also take the 200 with 25.67. Climbing to second all-time and picking up a PR in the 500, senior Ashley Struck took second with 1:14.81.
