BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's track and field team rolled over Lafayette 108-77 in The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute on Saturday.Â
Â
The Mountain Hawks won 12 out of 17 events, with 12 women earning PRs.Â
Â
"I'm very, very proud of what we've done," said head coach Khayla Atte. "We have a lot of really strong first-years, they really showed up. We also did something we haven't done before - every coach put their own entries and I agreed. I trust my gut, I believe in the athletes and I believe in my coaches the same way.
Â
"One thing I said to the team in a meeting the other day was 'How many of you have come into a practice or meet feeling great and then performed horribly? How many of you have come into a meet feeling bad and then surprised yourself with how great you did?' The constant is your performance - that you had to compete. The feelings are always going to change, so you have to be focused on the competition."

Sophomore Jennifer Whipple earned PRs in both the weight throw (14.79m) and the shot put (11.15m), winning the weight throw and taking second in the shot put. First-year Avery Dowkus continues to shine in her rookie campaign, winning the shot put with a 12.74m throw.
