
Lehigh Earns 16 PRs with Six Top-10 Finishes Across Two Meets

NEW YORK/BOSTON - The Lehigh women's track and field team split this weekend's competition between the Scarlet Knight Open in New York and the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational in Boston. Throws along with long jump and triple jump shipped up to Boston while the rest of the team competed at the Armory.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
Eleven Mountain Hawks earned PRs in the mid-distance/distance group, highlighted by five in the mile led by sophomore Abby Klebe's second all-time finish. Klebe competed in the mile for the first time, clocking in at 4:52.04 which landed her in the record books. Junior Lindsay MacLellan earned tenth place all-time with 4:58.48, while first-year Devon Sutton (5:10.17), junior Riley Morrell (5:10.87) and first-year Grace Hughes (5:20.55) picked up their career-bests.

In the 5000m, junior Savanah Beavers led the way with a sixth all-time finish (17:18.00) followed by PRs by sophomore Elisa Brear (18:12.96) and senior Grace Kolbe (18:29.23).Â

Morrell earned her second PR of the weekend with a 2:19.39 finish in the 800m. MacLellan and junior Svea Wickelgren logged times of 2:16.60 and 2:14.42, respectively.

SPRINTS/HURDLES:
Following a strong start to 2024, sophomore Grace Kennedy picked up two more PRs this weekend. Kennedy had a second all-time finish in the 400 (57.40) and earned third all-time in the 200 (25.47). In the 60m, senior Ashley Struck logged a sixth place all-time finish with 7.85. Senior Simone Davey notched a PR in the 400m with 1:00.02.

In the high jump, first-year Gaea DePass PRed with a 1.60m jump. Junior Lauren Roy logged a PR of 10.98m in the triple jump at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational.Â

THROWS:
In Boston, sophomore Jen Whipple earned a PR in the shot put with an 11.35m throw.

The Mountain Hawks head back to Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, N.Y. for the Big Apple Invitational next weekend.
