Big Apple Invitational Highlighted By Two School Records and 25 PRs

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Big Apple Invitational proved to be a hot bed for PRs for the Lehigh women's track and field team. The Mountain Hawks set two school records and earned 25 PRs across all event groups.
 
JUMPS:
Junior Casey Talamini-Kelemen wrote her name in the record book as the school record holder in the triple jump with a distance of 11.95m. First-year Gaea DePass tied her PR of 1.60m in the high jump.
 
SPRINTS/HURDLES:
The sprints group was highlighted by senior Ashley Struck earning the school record in the 200m, clocking in at 24.63. Struck also earned the meet record in the 400m with 55.57. Junior Grace Kennedy bettered both second and third all-time marks in both the 200 and 400 with 25.34 and 57.16, respectively. 
 
Two more student-athletes earned personal bests in both the 200m and 400m in junior Stephanie Webb (25.67, 58.76) and first-year Kasey White (25.81, 58.87), respectively. First-years Mila Jovanovic (1:02.05) and Iciar Gorospe (1:05.62) also logged PRs in the 400m. Sophomore Sydney Kusner PRed in the 500m, crossing the finish line in 1:23.40.
 
Junior Lillian Mauger claimed fifth all-time in the 200m with 25.53, also tabbing PRs in both the prelims and finals in the 60m (7.92).  Sophomore Gianna Mangilli improved her second all-time mark in the 60m with 7.73. 
 
DISTANCE/MID-DISTANCE:
Eight student-athletes in the distance/mid-distance group earned personal bests, highlighted by four in the 800m. Senior Christina Yakaboski was Lehigh's top finisher in the 800 with 2:15.72, succeeded in PRs by junior Riley Morrell (2:18.85), junior Devon Sutton (2:22.64) and first-year Aurora Wilson (2:24.42).
 
Junior Lindsay MacLellan climbed to eighth all-time in the 3K, crossing the finish line in 9:56.72. First-year Grace Hughes (10:47.54) and sophomore Elisa Brear (10:22.67) rounded out 3K PRs. Sophomore Sophia Renaud PRed in the mile with 5:52.
 
THROWS:
First-year Avery Dowkus continues to improve in her strong rookie season, earning a PR in the weight throw with a 15.46m throw.
 
The Mountain Hawks head to the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday to prepare for the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 24-25.
