BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will play its second game in three days as the Mountain Hawks head to Hamilton, N.Y., for a Monday matchup against Colgate at 4 p.m. Monday's game will also air on CBS Sports Network.
This will be Lehigh's first game on national television since winning the Patriot League Championship in 2021.
The Mountain Hawks are 10-7 (2-4 PL), and the Raiders are 11-6 (4-2 PL). Lehigh and Colgate are both coming off losses as the Mountain Hawks lost 59-55 to American, and the Raiders lost their last two games to Army and Boston University.
The Mountain Hawks were up by eight points against the Eagles in the final frame, but they were shut out for the final 7:25 as American pulled out the victory to capture the season series sweep.
Ella Stemmer was the leading scorer against American as she finished with a team-high of 15 points. Maddie Albrecht (14 points) and Meghan O'Brien (13 points) also recorded double digits.
Stemmer also paces the way with a team-high of 15.1 points per game. The junior guard has taken a big step this season and has started in all but one game. Stemmer has been a huge threat from three as she's hit 48 three-pointers this season, which is just two shy of her season-high of 48 three-pointers, which she set last season. Stemmer leads the Patriot League with 2.8 made three-pointers per game.
Lily Fandre and Meghan O'Brien are right behind Stemmer in scoring, as Fandre averages 12.3 points per game and O'Brien averages 9.6 points per game. O'Brien also has a team-high of 6.2 rebounds per game.
Taylor Golembiewski is the lone Raider averaging double figures as she brings home 12.9 points per game. Alexa Brodie is right there, as she averages 9.9 points per game.
While Lehigh averages a league leading 71.9 points per game, Colgate is second in the league in scoring defense, as the Raiders are holding opponents to 54.6 points per game.
Lehigh leads the all-time series 46-30. The Raiders won both matchups last season and captured the season sweep against Lehigh for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
The Mountain Hawks will return home to Stabler Arena on Saturday to host Holy Cross for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
