
School Record in the Women’s 4x400 Highlights Late Saturday Meet

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A late Saturday night at Ocean Breeze proved to be successful for many Mountain Hawks in the Villanova Invitational. Eight student-athletes across all event groups earned career high performances. The women's 4x400 group of Grace Kennedy, Svea Wickelgren, Abby Klebe and Ashley Struck secured the school record with a 3:52.77 finish.
MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
In the women's 1000m, junior Svea Wickelgren claimed sixth place with 2:55.07, while senior Lindsay MacLellan finished closely behind in eighth with 2:55.96.
Coming off a strong cross country season, first-year Thomas Smigo placed sixth in the men's 1000m with 2:26.09. With a 8:49.56 in the 3000m, first-year Ryan Baker logged a PR.
SPRINTS/HURDLES:
Mountain Hawks picked up PRs in the men's and women's 500m, as first-year Carly Griffin claimed 19th (1:19.72) and junior Patrez Thomas finished 16th (1:07.64). After moving to tenth all-time in the 60m dash last weekend, first-year Eddie Moore picked up a PR and eighth place in the 200m with 22.31.
In the 400m, sophomore Grace Kennedy finished in 57.97, good for a PR and eighth place. First-year Kasey White also earned a PR with her 59.43 finish.
JUMPS:
Junior Skylar Mott claimed third in the high jump with a height of 2.00m. In the long jump, junior Mulenga Malama recorded a PR of 6.86m, securing sixth place. With a jump of 3.70m, sophomore Laura Reigle finished third in the pole vault.
THROWS:
First-year Avery Dowkus continues to make her presence known, tying her PR of 15.28m in the weight throw and landing in ninth place. In the men's shot put, junior Liam Lovering claimed tenth with a throw of 15.77m. In men's shot put, junior Liam Lovering took eighth with 15.29m and senior Alex Clevenger followed behind in ninth with 15.09m.
Lehigh hosts its first dual meet next weekend as the Mountain Hawks welcome Lafayette to Rauch Fieldhouse on Saturday for The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.
