Lehigh Hosts Marist in Final Home Meet of the Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After a month off from competition, Lehigh women's swimming and diving returns to Jacobs Pool on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Marist. Saturday's meet will also be the final home meet of the season.
The Mountain Hawks are 3-3 this season and are coming off of a 129-111 loss to Drexel on Dec.2. The Foxes are 2-2 this season. Lehigh and Marist have both faced Rider earlier this season. The Mountain Hawks defeated Rider 227-69, and the Red Foxes also beat the Broncs 158-142.
Junior diver Sarah Gill was named the Patriot League diver of the week on Dec. 5 after her performance in the Drexel meet. Gill won the one-meter dive with 252.15 points and took second in the three-meter dive with 236.55 points.
First-year Kate Whitaker also was a bright spot on the diving board. Whitaker won the three-meter dive with 242.63 points.
Lehigh also won three individual swim events. Mairin Ludwig won the 400-yard freestyle (4:02.38), Sarah Hardy won the 200–yard IM (3:17.80) and Caitlin Deitch won the 50-yard butterfly (26.19).
While she did not take first, Danielle Prekop still had a strong performance against the Dragons as she tallied two second-place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke (1:25.40) and the 100-yard IM (59.92). Prekop's time in the 100-yard IM is the fastest so far this season in the Patriot League.
Following the meet against Marist, the Mountain Hawks will close out the dual meet slate at Bucknell on Jan. 27.
