Men's Rowing Adds Boyd-Goodrich To Coaching Staff

Lehigh men's rowing welcomes Gavin Boyd-Goodrich to its coaching staff, head coach Peter Costas announced Wednesday morning.
"We are thrilled to have Gavin joining the Lehigh University Rowing staff," said Costas. "In getting to know Gavin, he revealed himself as an outstanding fit for the values here at Lehigh while describing the start of his career. His description of the joy and challenges working in student-athlete development is inspiring. He has competitive fire, and high-performance experience as a junior and Division I collegiate athlete, as well as impressive results from his time coaching in Florida with First Coast Rowing Club. Gavin is an excellent answer for our Men's program keeping pace with the growth we're seeing around the country in the top tier of the ACRA league."
Boyd-Goodrich, a native of San Mateo, California, graduated from Yale University in 2020 after a four-year career as a member of the rowing team. He tallied an impressive resume of achievements during his time in New Haven, including lightweight team points champions at the EARC Sprints in 2019, a gold medal at the Eastern Sprints in 2017, and a sixth-place finish at the IRA National Championship in 2018.
Following his graduation from Yale, Boyd-Goodrich has worked as a lead assistant coach at First Coast Rowing Club in Jacksonville, Florida. Boyd-Goodrich coached athletes in technical proficiency, planned and led team workouts, assisted the head coach in team roster management, and more.
During his time at Yale, Boyd-Goodrich volunteered as an assistant crew coach at Junipero Serra High School, his alma mater. He also worked as a camp counselor at the Bulldog Rowing Camp, a summer camp hosted by Yale Rowing.
Boyd-Goodrich is certified as a USRowing Level I Coach.
