Zhu Goes Under Par Tuesday To Lead Lehigh At Red Bandana Invitational

MILTON, Mass. – Sophomore Yuki Zhu shot one under par 71 to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks on the final day of the Red Bandana Invitational, Tuesday at Blue Hill Country Club. Zhu tied for 12th overall to lead the way for Lehigh with a final total of 227 (77-79-71).
 
Lehigh enjoyed its best team round of the 54-hole event Tuesday, shooting 308 to tie for eighth place out of 17 teams at 937 (313-316-308).
 
Zhu's final round included four birdies, 11 pars and three bogeys as she became the first Lehigh player to turn in three career under-par rounds.
 
Junior Madison Pineda was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher, tying for 26th place at 233 (78-75-80). Pineda made an eagle 3 on the par 5 ninth hole and her second round 75 was the second-lowest round for Lehigh at the Red Bandana Invitational.
 
Senior Venecia Zaia tied for 37th place at 236 (78-81-77) and made two birdies in her final round.
 
First-year Stefania Fedun shot 80 Tuesday and tied for 54th place at 241, while classmate Bella Scanapicco shot 272 (87-94-91) and finished in 87th place. Fedun made a birdie on No. 9, her final hole of the tournament.
 
Host Boston College won the team title at 897 (297-298-302), four strokes better than runner-up Sacred Heart.
 
Leeyen Peralta of Quinnipiac is the individual medalist at six over par 222. She defeated Margot Rouquette of Sacred Heart by one stroke.
 
The Mountain Hawks will now be off until they host the Lehigh Invitational on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club, Oct. 23-24.
