Zhu Ties For Second To Pace Lehigh At Home Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Yuki Zhu led the way, tying for second place to lead the Lehigh women's golf team at the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Zhu shot even par 72 Tuesday, matching the low round of the tournament, to post a final total of five over par 149 (77-72).

As a team, the Mountain Hawks shot 315 Tuesday to finish at 640 (325-315). Lehigh claimed eighth place in a 16-team field.

Zhu's final round featured four birdies. She was three under par through 11 holes. With her round of 72, Zhu had a round of even par or better in all four of Lehigh's fall tournaments. Zhu was part of a four-way tie for second place, two strokes behind medalist Mariel Tee of UAlbany.

Senior Venecia Zaia was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher as she tied for 22nd place at 159 (80-79). Zaia made one birdie on Tuesday and was just one over par on the back nine.

Junior Madison Pineda carded an 81 Tuesday and tied for 32nd at 161 (80-81). Pineda birdies the par 4 8th hole in her final round.

First-year Bella Scanapicco had a nine-stroke improvement from round one, shooting 83 Tuesday to tie for 71st place at 175 (92-83). Classmate Olivia Lu had her second straight round of 88 and tied for 74th place at 176. Â

Junior Sophie Chang competed as an individual and tied for 55th place at 167 (82-85). Chang's final round included one birdie.

FDU claimed the team title with a final score of 610 (311-299). The Knights defeated second place UAlbany by seven strokes, while Howard finished third.

The Lehigh Invitational marks the conclusion of Lehigh's fall season.
