Mountain Hawks Finish the 2023 season at Dad Vails Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Lehigh men's rowing squad concluded its 2022-23 season at the 2023 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, staged on the Cooper River, Friday and Saturday.
 
Lehigh's second varsity competed in the Men's JV Eight time-trail race and went up against 11 other programs including Drexel, La Salle, Colgate, Temple, Jacksonville University, MIT, Saint Joseph's, Marietta, Rutgers, Army West Point and Villanova. The Mountain Hawks finished eighth in the trail race 5:58.068.

With that time, the Brown and White then raced in the Semifinal, heat 1 against Temple, Colgate, Saint Joseph's, Marietta and Villanova. Lehigh finished fifth in the heat in a time of 6:32.371, landing them in the second final race.
 
The Mountain Hawks' second varsity boat raced against Jacksonville, Marietta, Rutgers, Army West Point and Villanova, placing third in their final with a time of 6:16.926, just 7.772 seconds out of first place.

In the men's varsity eight race time trial, the Mountain Hawks are one of 19 entries and raced against Drexel, Colgate, Temple, La Salle, Jacksonville University, FIT, Saint Joseph's, Marietta, Rutgers, Delaware, Stetson, Army West Point, Rhode Island University, Georgia Tech, Bowdoin, UCF, Franklin and Marshall, and Villanova. Lehigh's boat finished eighth in the time trial, turning in a time of 5:58.068 to land themselves in the second heat of the semifinals.
 
The Brown and White went up against Colgate, Temple, Stetson, Bowdoin and Villanova in heat two of the semifinals and finished fourth with a time of 6:11.278 to earn a spot in the petite final. The Mountain Hawks concluded the afternoon by capturing third place with a time of 5:59.423, just 5.666 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
