Lehigh Completes Weekend Trip to West Point With 4-2 Setback to Boston U.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – For the second straight day the Lehigh men's tennis team captured the doubles point, but could not come through in singles. On Saturday it was Boston University winning four singles matches to defeat the Mountain Hawks 4-2 in Patriot League action at Army West Point.

Senior Matt Kleiman picked up Lehigh's lone singles win at the top flight and teamed with sophomore Marc Blekhman for the doubles-clinching victory at No. 1.

Lehigh is now 9-9 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League.

Two of the three doubles matches needed tiebreaks to be decided. Senior Michael Bukhalo and sophomore Sean Jaeger won 6-3 at the No. 3 flight but Boston University picked up a win in a tiebreak at No. 2. At the top flight, Blekhman and Kleiman won a tiebreak 7-4 to defeat Dion Loutas and Alejandro Licea 7-6, giving Lehigh the early 1-0 lead.

BU tied the match with a win at No. 2 singles before Kleiman bested Loutas in straight sets to put the Mountain Hawks up 2-1. The Terriers came back with wins at No. 3 and No. 6 and clinched the match at No. 5 when Ben Letzer won 7-5, 6-3 over junior Jordan Paul.

First-year Jackson Morash was down 3-2 in the third set at No. 4 singles when the match was clinched.

The Mountain Hawks will be back in action on Tuesday when they visit rival Lafayette at 4 p.m.
