Lehigh Wins Three Events as Reigle Sets the Facility Record in the Pole Vault at the Monmouth Spring Opener

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.  — The Lehigh women's track and field team wrapped up the weekend by winning three events at the Monmouth Spring Opener, hosted by Monmouth at Kessler Stadium.

Jumps
Sophomore Casey Talamini-Kelemen took home first place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.64 meters while junior Nina Cialone and senior Rachel Sequeira finished third and fourth respectively.

First-year Laura Reigle earned a first-place finish in the pole vault and set the facility record with her mark of 3.65 meters. Reigle's mark was good enough for fourth all-time. Sophomore Randi Conroy tied for fifth in the pole vault by clearing a height of 3.35 meters.

Lehigh had eight compete in the long jump with six Mountain Hawks finishing third through eighth. Sophomore Lillian Mauger reached a mark of 5.53 meters for a new personal best for third place while Talamini-Kelemen placed fourth with a jump of 5.46 meters and first-year Grace Nation finished fifth with a leap of 5.43 meters. Both sophomore Lauren Roy and Cialone both set personal bests and finished seventh and eighth respectively.

In the high jump, first-year Melanie LaCorte and junior Kerry Perna both tied for fourth by clearing a height of 1.60 meters, which ties a personal best for LaCorte.

Sprints
The "A' squad of senior Anna Murphy, junior Ashley Struck and first-years Grace Kennedy and Gianna Mangili claimed a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing in 3:58.31 while the "B" team of Lauryn Heskin, Amber Barrios, Simone Davey and Abby Klebe finished fourth in a time of 4:08.40.

In the 4x100-meter relay, Mangili, sophomores Stephanie Webb and Shelby Dejana and senior Ashley Griesmeyer completed the race in 48.03 seconds, which landed them a second-place finish.

Barrios earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the finish line in a PR time of 1:05.93 and sophomore Lauren Roy ran a 1:13.38 for 11th.

Struck and Mangili each finished in the top 10 in the 100-meter relay with Struck placing sixth in a time of 12.19 seconds which is fourth all-time while Mangili ran a time of 12.37 seconds for ninth place.

In the 100-meter hurdles, seniors Chae Eun Kim and Elke Knecht both earned top-10 finishes. Kim ran a 14.76 for fifth place while Knecht finished ninth in a time of 15.22 seconds.

Struck then placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 24.88 seconds for a personal best and third all-time while Webb ran a 25.56 for 12th and sophomore Lillian Mauger finished 15th in a time of 25.88.

In the 400-meter race, Kennedy ran a time of 58.47 seconds for seventh place while Klebe finished in eighth with a time of 59.38.

Mid-Distance
Heskin recorded a third-place finish after completing the 800-meter run in a personal best time of 2:18.60 while senior Annalise Davis ran a 3:20.16 which was good enough for fifth place. Junior Grace Kolbe finished third in the 3,000-meter steeple chase with a PR time of 11:45.49.

Six Mountain Hawks ran in the 1,500-meter race, with junior Abigail Tenreiro finishing ninth with a PR time of 4:50.77 while junior Andrine Larsen completed the race in 4:52.10 for 12th place. Junior Lindsay MacLellan ran a personal best of 4:56.81 for a 19th-place finish.

Sophomore Grace Aggen earned a second-place finish and is now 10th all-time for hitting a mark of 41.26 meters. Senior Emma Harrington turned in a distance of 38.63 meters which was good for eighth place.

Junior Karina Roze recorded a personal best with a mark of 40.48 meters in the hammer throw which earned 13th place while Harrington hit a mark of 38.99 meters for a 16th-place finish.

Junior Brooke Acoveno turned in a mark of 28.11 meters in the javelin, which had her finish 17th while sophomore Chelsi Chevannes recorded a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 10.87 meters.

The Mountain Hawks will prepare for the Lafayette Dual, which will be hosted by the Leopards at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 1.Â
