Lehigh to take on No.13/No.15 Army on Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's lacrosse team will face its second ranked opponent of the year when the Mountain Hawks take on No.13/No.15 Army on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
Lehigh has won its last three games, including Patriot League wins over Navy and Holy Cross. The Mountain Hawks' only loss this season came to Cornell, who was ranked No. 3 before falling to Penn State last week. The Army is ranked No.13/15. The Black Knights are 5-1. After losing the first game of the season to UMass, the Black Knights have won five straight games.
Lehigh is 11-26 all-time against Army, but the Mountain Hawks have won the last two meetings. Last year, Lehigh defeated Army 11-10 at West Point, N.Y. Lehigh started the game on a 4-0 run, but the Black Knights were able to claw back. The Mountain Hawks never trailed and held on for the one-goal win.Â
Christian Mule' needs just four more goals to eclipse 100 career goals. Mule' and Scott Cole are tied for first on the team in points (31). Cole earned Patriot League honorable mention honors alongside Nick Pecora after two strong performances last week. Cole scored a career-high of seven goals versus Binghamton and followed that up with another six-point performance at Holy Cross. Pecora had 14 saves against the Bearcats and nine against the Crusaders.Â
Richard Checo continues to lead the nation in caused turnovers (4.17 per game). The first-year was named the Patriot League Defender of the Week after another strong week, where he tallied 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers over two games.
Mike Sisselberger was named the Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week after dominating at the faceoff "x." He went 20-of-28 against Holy Cross and 16-of-29 vs. the Crusaders. Sisselberger is nearing the school record for most ground balls. He needs just eight to tie Conor Gaffney's record (402).
Army is led by Reese Burek, who has scored 26 points this season. Jacob Morin has a team-high 16 goals. The Black Knights own lead wins over Holy Cross and Lafayette.
The Mountain Hawks are averaging 14.83 goals per game, which ranks 14th in the nation and first in the Patriot League. Army ranks second in the league with 14.67 goals per game.Â
Next Saturday, Lehigh will step out of league play to face Georgetown in its final non-league game of the regular season.
