Mountain Hawks to take on Crusaders on Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's lacrosse team will head to Worcester to take on Holy Cross in a 2 p.m. matchup with the Crusaders on Saturday.

Lehigh is 4-1 (1-0 PL), and Holy Cross is 0-6 (0-1). 

The Mountain Hawks have won two straight games. They defeated Navy 13-10 in the Patriot League opener on March 4 and grabbed a 14-13 win over Binghamton Tuesday night.

Lehigh got off to a fast start against Binghamton, holding a 7-1 lead after the first quarter. The Bearcats climbed back in the game, but the Mountain Hawks were able to hold them off to capture their second straight win.

Holy Cross most recently played Army. The Crusaders lost 13-6. The last win Holy Cross captured was on April 20 of last year, which came against UMass Lowell by a 15-14 score.

Scott Cole led the way for Lehigh in the win over Binghamton. He finished with a career-high of seven goals and scored the game-winning goal. Nick Pecora had a game-high of 14 saves against the Bearcats. 

Cole and Christian Mule' are the two leading scorers this season. Mule scored 26 points on the season, and Cole scored 25 points. Mule' is just six goals away from 100 for his career.

First-year Richard Checo caused four turnovers against Binghamton. He leads the nation in caused turnovers (22). The next closest is Grant Ammann with 16 caused turnovers.

The Mountain Hawks are 29-2 all-time against the Crusaders. The last time Lehigh lost to Holy Cross was on April 26, 2019. The Mountain Hawks have won the last two meetings.

Holy Cross is led by Thomas McIntire. He's scored 18 points this season. Dean DiNanno is next with nine points.

Holy Cross averages seven goals per game and gives up 14.33 goals per game, while Lehigh is scoring 14.20 goals per game and is allowing 11.60 goals per game. 

Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
